MT 238 – DJ Sonic – Soho Top 10

Då var det dags för först gäst DJ:n. Och den här gången är det MLK:s före detta kollega, tillika London bo och musiknördiga 51åring; DJ Sonic (Peter Chiswick). Sällan stött på någon som har sånt otroligt musikintresse och som även kör typ en egen mixtapeklubb, genom att skicka listor varje månad till alla som är intresserade och nu även Mixtapeklubben. Bara att höra av sig till honom på WhatsApp eller IG så är ni med i rotationen. Han har otroligt bred musiksmak och har fått SÅ mkt go afrikansk musik och reggae från honom och svängiga elektroniska grejer. Mycket nöje !

A real east-Londoner with music running through my veins since god knows how long. I really love music and all sorts of music from jazz to reggae to electronic and, as Marcus told me, we also share the love for African beats. 

My real happy place is walking around in sunny London and browsing the vinyl at Sounds of the Universe to discover new treasures from afar, hence the picture – my real happy place.

1.Amore come dolore (Needs Remix) – Ennio Morricone Take the greatest screen writer and add a Needs Remix and have Balearic heaven

2. Tutukaka – Demi Riquisimo . Another Balearic summer tune, this time up tempo – This one plays homage to its Italo house roots!

3. Anxiety – North South East West. A “B” side to a French library record! Amazing dubbed out guitars. Crank it up!

4. Electronic Debris – Mr Fingersa. From the deep house master – As per usual, immaculate produced house music. Untouchable. 

5. Try Love – Horace Andya. The honeyed voice is back with one his great dub albums. Incredible production!

6. Belly Brocka – Laska a. Top Bassline/Dubstep – Pure raw energy! Play it loud

7. Inspector Norse (Pepe Bradock Remix) Todd Terje . It was already a great track and then the French house master Pepe gets involved! 

8. Calypso of house (Paradise Mix) – Key Tronics Ensemble  . Young Marco brings this rare Italo house gem back to life. 

9. Cool Cool Cool – Gramme. Outstanding post-punk track – in the style of classic downtown NYC

10. People of Yoruba – Jah Shaka & Mad Professor . Two absolute titans of dub – Heavy sound / play it very loud.
